I've rewritten this first post four times now, which feels appropriate for a blog about editing — nothing worth finishing gets made on the first pass.
Here's the short version: I make AMVs, I've made them since 2011, and I talk about editing more than any of my friends want to hear about at this point. This blog exists so I have somewhere else to put it.
what this place is
- Breakdowns of edits I love, cut by cut
- Tutorials for the software I stubbornly refuse to upgrade
- Season write-ups that are mostly just rankings with extra steps
- A running record of every render that has ever crashed on me
what this place is not
It is not a portfolio site with a "hire me" button. It is not going to email you a newsletter. There is no pricing page, because nothing here costs anything, and there never will be. Nobody wrote any of these posts for me. If a sentence sounds a little unpolished, that's because it is — I'd rather it sound like a person than a press release.
why now, after all this time?
Honestly? I found a hard drive from 2013 in a drawer while moving apartments. It had forty-one unfinished projects on
it, a folder called FINAL_v3_ACTUALLY_FINAL, and about six hours of raw source footage I have no memory of
sourcing. Digging through it made me want to actually finish writing some of this down before I forget how I used to
do things.
Here's a peek at the desk this whole thing runs on, mid-render, several energy drinks deep:
More soon. Probably at 1am, like everything else here.
